4) Present Continuous المضارع المستمر

Definition التعريف:- 

We use present continuous when we talk about something is happening at the time of speaking.

نستخدم زمن المضارع المستمر عندما نتحدث عن شئ يحصل لحظة التكلم:- 

Example: He is building his house now.

Adverbs الظروف الدالة على المضارع المستمر:- 

Now الأن Nowadays هذه الأيام Today اليوم Look! انظر

Listen! أسمع At this moment

في هذه اللحظة At the present

في الوقت الحاضر 

------------------------------------------------------

The Rule القاعدة:- 

I → Am } + Verb Ing + Complete the sentence

He, She, It → Is

They, We, You → Are

Example:
1- I am reading a story at this moment.
2- They are watching TV now.
3- Look! The bus is coming.
4- I am learning English now.
5- He is playing football now.
6- Listen! The birds are singing at this moment.

Note ملاحظة:- 

There are some verbs that can't come in the present continuous or past continuous and these verbs are express about feeling, harm, and senses.

هناك بغض الأفعال التي لا يمكن أن تأتي في زمن المضارع المستمر أو حتى الماضي المستمر وهذه الأفعال تعبر عن الشعور والأحاسيس والأذى وهي كالتالي:-

Wish يتمنى Prefer يفضل Want يريد Love يحب Like يحب
Hear يسمع Hope يأمل Feel يشعر Dislike يكره Hate يكره
Consider يعتبر Fear يخشى Appear يظهر Seem يبدو Think يعتقد
Understand يفهم Trust يثق Believe يصدق Fit يناسب
Remember يتذكر Realize يدرك Need يحتاج See ينظر
Suppose يفترض Know يعرف Belong يخص Mean يعني Forget ينسى

How can we change the present continuous to negative?

كيف يمكننا أن نحول المضارع المستمر إلى نفي:-

We can change the present continuous to negative by adding ( not ) to the helping verb.

نستطيع تحويل المضارع المستمر إلى نفي وذلك بإضافة كلمة ( not ) إلى الفعل المساعد.

Examples:-
1- I am going to school.
I am not going to the school.
2- I am learning English.
I am not learning English.
3- He is playing tennis.
He is not playing tennis.
4- They are cleaning the house.
They are not cleaning the house.

How can we make question in the present continuous:-
We make questions in the present continuous by putting the helping verb in the beginning.

يمكننا أن نعمل أسئلة في المضارع المستمر وذلك بوضع الفعل المساعد في بداية الجملة:-

Examples:-
1. I am going to school.
Am I going to the school?
Yes, I am. No, I am not.
2. I am going to school.
Are you going to school?
Yes, I am. No, I am not.
3. He is playing tennis.
Is he playing tennis?
Yes, he is. No, he is not.
4. They are cleaning the house.
Are they cleaning the house?
Yes, they are. No, they are not.
