Definition التعريف:-
1) We use the past continuous to say that someone was in the middle of doing something at a certain time. The action or actions had already started before this time but hadn't finished.
يستخدم الماضي المستمر للتحدث عن شخص ما أنه في وسط عمل شئ ما في زمن معين والعمل قد بدأ فعلاً قبل هذا الزمن ولكنه لم ينتهي بعد.

كيف يمكننا أن نحول الماضي المستمر إلى نفي؟
We can change the past continuous to negative by adding (not) after was or were.
نستطيع تحويل الماضي المستمر إلى نفي وذلك بإضافة كلمة ( not ) بعد الفعل ( was ) أو الفعل ( were ).
Example:
1- I was eating my lunch.
I was not eating my lunch.
2- We were playing football.
We were not playing football.

كيف يمكننا أن نحول الماضي المستمر إلى نفي؟

How can we make question in the past continuous:-
كيف يمكننا أن نحول الماضي المستمر إلى سؤال؟
We can make question in the past continuous by putting "was or were" at the beginning of the sentence.
يمكننا تحويل الماضي المستمر إلى سؤال وذلك بوضع الفعل ( was أو were ) في بداية الجملة.
Example:-
1. I was eating my lunch.
Was I eating my lunch?
Yes, I was. No, I was not.
Were you eating your lunch?
Yes, I was. No, I was not.
